  1. Getting somewhere with the SRP2000 but I don't think I'll be able to play with it on-air in trunked mode sadly.

It's TG-band (400-433MHz), of which only the top 3MHz overlaps with the amateur band here. None of the ETSI-standardised duplex spacings allow for 1MHz split (the lowest is 5MHz). TETRA does allow for custom duplex spacings (SYSINFO "Duplex Spacing" information element = 0b111, which means the duplex spacing is specified "by other means") but I can't find a way to set a custom duplex spacing in the programming software. So we might be cooked there, friendos.

    Anyone any ideas?

    DMO should still work though.

  2. Here we go. Sepura SRP2000 (1st Gen).

Pretty radical departure from the SRP01 I've looked at before. Much more integrated, considering this is only 4 or 5 years newer the advancement is pretty impressive. Especially the miniaturisation.

Unfortunately almost everything is underneath RFI shielding, which are soldered not clipped. There are a few interesting things on show though.

  3. I believe this was the first handportable TETRA radio made by Sepura after they were spun off from Simoco, so it’ll be interesting to compare to some of the Simoco kit I’ve looked at before #tetra #hamradio

  4. TG-band, so it should be usable-ish? If it works… #tetra #hamradio

  5. Forgive me, Motorola, for I have strayed from your holy light. Teardown to come when I feel like it. #tetra #hamradio
