I hold his hand and spin, throwing him up high. He giggles. Asks to be thrown again and again until my arms ache. I'll always be there. I always have been, there on the edge of his horizon. One day he'll fly away, beyond my circumpolar orbit. But not today. Today I hold his hand and spin.

Justice is not blind. The bandage is torn away from her eyes and look - there she is, climbing down from the #pediment when she stood for so long among all those other carved abstracts, sword in her hand and scales swinging. She can see you now. I hope you're ready.

She speaks in doublespeak. Tells me I'm beautiful. Says she loves me. It's all lies. Obviously. But I'll treat every word she says as though it's true - every utterance like honesty. She can't fool me. Eventually she'll learn I can see straight through her.
