One small mistake can get your case thrown right out of housing court which is exactly what these out-of-town LLCs are hoping for so we aren't going to let that happen. Partnering up with some solid local housing attorneys allows us to walk folks step-by-step through the process of legally paying rent into court until critical repairs are finished. When we organize a single duplex over in the Fillmore Gibson area and stand on a porch listening to a neighbor describe the black mold growing in their child's bedroom we document those ignored maintenance requests specifically to figure out how to legally weaponize the data. We help tenants legally withhold their rent in pocket escrows until critical repairs are made which constricts the profit margins of these corporate landlords and hits them right in their balance sheets (because begging a broken municipal system for help is basically a waste of breath at this point). Breaking their bank accounts legally is the practical application of Intersectional Pacifist Social Anarchism.
