It basically just means teaching folks how to build defensive networks right where they live instead of waiting for a broken municipal bureaucracy to suddenly care. Through The Rising Tide Fellowship we just share basic educational resources about cooperative strategies like setting up a pocket escrow. You legally hold your rent in a separate savings account and don't touch it until the corporate landlord finally fixes the heat. Shifting the financial leverage directly back to the tenant levels the playing field. Total daily grind.
But building real power takes an immense amount of patience. Grassroots labor involves doing the exact same slow educational work over and over again until the information finally clicks. We just keep stacking those bricks every single day. A rising tide lifts all boats when we invest directly in each other.
