how many of y’all are aware of the new $600 threshold for cash transfer apps (paypal, cashapp, venmo, etc)?
it was implemented in 2020 but each year it has been mercifully put off for another year due to lack of awareness. i’m not sure if it is active now or still put off once again.
but anything over $600 will trigger a 1099 - the payment apps must report all funds one receives in excess of $600 per tax year
