Tanglefoot, Australia’s only cold-weather deciduous species, attracts thousands to witness ‘the turn’. However, few will have seen them glowing in gold tones. The organism emits garish colours in response to UV light in a process called bio-fluorescence. Bravo Zulu #Canada! For some reason this song has been running through my head this morning. There's a lot of truth to the stereotype about Canadians being polite; this, particularly the last verse, is just about the politest and most Canadian way of telling the U.S. to f**k off that I can possibly imagine.
