I just finished setting up a new (to me) media centre to replace my aging 2011 Acer Veriton. I paid €50 for the Acer years ago, but recently it struggles more and more with 1080 content encoded as H.265, so I picked up this ex-corporate Dell OptiPlex 7050 for €150, ddrescue-ed the OS disk wholesale from the Acer to the Dell, and, apart from having to disable secure boot in the Dell BIOS, everything worked immediately. Linux is a marvel of stability.

The operating system is #mxlinux with #sysvinit.

Okay, if today is a day of morons, I must mention #systemd, #netplan, and maintainers of #nftables who specified network-pre.target for Wants and Before in nftables.service.

Just think: network-pre

They are happily unaware of tunnels created by netplan.

And netplan cannot create tun interfaces, LOL.

#ifupdown and #sysvinit worked like a charm but which VPS provider offer, say, #devuan ?

Modern developers drag us back to the stone age.
