I don't know what the mental calculus running a trillion dollar company with a margin over 40% is, but avoiding 100% tariffs is likely part of it. Trying to not be noticed, brown-nosing, cheaping-out gold-plated sycophant behavior to fly under the radar might be a strategy; worked so far, despite defenestrating a great reputation. Or maybe not. That huge profit margin could pay for lawyers that can't help but win against the TACO bully. He could've and could still to be a hero or worst case a martyr. Maybe the FCC attacking #Apple News is the straw that breaks the camel's back? Certainly, Tim Cook has enough in his savings account that he can afford to be fired by the board?
