Last night my #SwordCoastRamblers crew made their way into the Mere of Dead Men and I find myself flipping through content from four different adventures to weave things together. Gonna visit Castle Naerytar, Iniarv's Tower, and Ebondeath's Mausoleum. Befriended the rebel lizardman Snapjaw, and found out pretty quickly other subchiefs like Hiissain aren't aligned with him. Meanwhile questing for Thalivar's bones so the cleric can put him to rest. It's a lot! #DnD

Last night's #SwordCoastRamblers #DnD session was basically just shopping. But the players saught out specific things and played out multiple scenes to get what they wanted and I'm pretty proud of how I delivered it all.

In Leilon, they chatted with Puck at the shrine of Tymora and we flipped a coin to determine whether he had what they want

Then the Lathanderan priestess Merrygold identified some items for them. The aura of her magic felt like sunshine on their faces...

Ahahaha I did it! Shimmied the #SwordCoastRamblers team from the border ethereal to Barovia with a mission from Morgantha to take out Baba Lysaga and her creeping hut. We speed ran three chapters of Curse of Strahd in a single session and it was very satisfying #dnd

Finally getting down to my session notes from Friday. The party had a side task to return an item to the Tower of Luck in Waterdeep, just doors down from where they started, but purposefully took a long way around to trigger like a dozen little scenes out of my city encounters book. It was a fun time! #SwordCoastRamblers #DnD

With a big open world in #SwordCoastRamblers, I've found my players outlevel some of the content but still get FOMO about missing it.

What if... higher level characters hired new adventurers to go handle that stuff? Spin up another table in the same game world or shift the narrative focus to a new party now and then 🤔

- Clean up entries from Storm King's Thunder

Took some time to port all my #SwordCoastRamblers quest markers and notes to the lovely new 2025 Faerûn map. This is our second time massively expanding the explorable world - first was when we broke out of the Phandelver region and discovered the scale of everything doubled (with a canonical reason!)

Gonna be two weeks before I'm running #SwordCoastRamblers again but I never stop plotting.

I have stuff from Hoard of the Dragon Queen and Storm Lord's Wrath set up to give the party a path that leads to Leilon, the Mere of Dead Men, and the Bronze Shrine. Gotta take their history into account when Old Gnawbones gets involved.

Meanwhile one player on particular has been practically vibrating about crossing patha with a black dragon from the beginning.

But also, we just unlocked a teleportation circle at a bastion that could skip right by it all. Whoopsie!

Hopefully I have enough breadcrumbs to make travelling the High Road worth it
