I found an incompatibility between #SWIG 4.3 and #apparmor that I don't fully understand. A tuple created with %append_output contains an extra argument. This is noted in the SWIG 4.3.0 changelog but I don't know how to fix this while the typemaps are shared between python, perl and ruby.

Do you know someone who knows swig and can shed some light on a possible solution?

@EndlessMason Almost every “safe” language has some kind of foreign function interface where guarantees break down. #Java has JNI, Microsoft .NET has P/Invoke, and #Rust just calls theirs #FFI.

Perl’s XS is a glue language mostly made up of #C macros that lets you wire up Perl’s guts to C code. There are also alternatives like #SWIG and FFI::Platypus, the latter of which uses a separate portable library (written in C, natch) that can talk to lots of calling conventions, not just C.

got further by hacking the #SWIG binding to # define __LA_MODE_T unsigned short (there's still compatibility code in there for FUCKING BORLAND C)

Now seems to be dying in the #Python code, which might be an improvement, but by the look of this setup.py, probably not.

Do I know anyone who knows #SWIG?
The generated code is dying on
