By way of background, we have a resident #skunk who got into the habit of popping in to the house through the #cat door and chowing down on cat food. We replaced the cat door with a SureFlap chip-sensitive one, the so-called "single scan" model that swings freely in the outward direction but only opens in the inward direction when an animal with a recognized microchip tries to enter. The skunk promptly figured out how to get in by pulling the door flap outward from the outside with her paw and sticking her nose underneath it. So yesterday, we replaced the door AGAIN with a SureFlap DualScan, which requires the microchip in both directions. Here's a little critter-cam video of what happened last night.

Gustav the #cat just had his own door installed. Clever thing that keeps track of where he is and how long he's been out. Our two small #dogs have access too, but smarts wise, they're just a hair ahead of our chickens. We'll see if they can learn 😂
The #Sureflap pet door seems solid and well designed. Expensive though, but the cat seems very happy that he can come and go as he pleases. That's worth it.
