In my little corner of the internet, this is the shock of the day. Storror announced this on their Instagram this morning, and it seems like the amount of material Callum Powell has pleaded guilty to creating is quite staggering.
I’m unsure how Storror can go on after this. Of course the other members are not to blame in any way, but Callum is such an integral part of the team, and watching old videos with him in them – and we are talking hundreds upon hundreds, if not thousands, of hours of video here – will never be the same again.
The Storror brand is to a large extent about the people, their cooperation, friendship and interaction. And the lens the world will see that through, has fundamentally changed. The brand in itself is tarnished, even if the remaining members have done nothing wrong.
It is especially sad for his brother, whose comeback after really bad injuries has been one of the great aspects of the latest year.
I might be wrong. They are masters at social media. They might find a way to go on. They have twice my countries population following them on YouTube, after all.
But as a fan, I struggle to see the way out of this.
