  1. Things that really grind my gear while working. #API calls and documentation that do not work as advertised.

Looking at you here #statuscake. There is an odd mix of newer calls/older calls to manage uptime tests. Instead of returning error message you just get .. nothing.

    end of mini-rant.

  2. #RukiiNet #SelfHosting update:
Here's an all-time uptime graph from #StatusCake. Managed the first week with a 100% uptime recently, and the weekly uptime is now in single-nine. Monthly uptime isn't quite there yet, but improving steadily.

  3. Today I have been playing with Uptime Kuma. An open-source fancy self-hosting monitoring tool. An alternative to #Pingdom, #UptimeRobot, #StatusCake etc.

I have been using a basic paid service for a few domains to keep track of licences and a few specific pages. But they have been alerting me to upgrade -- which I didn't want to.

Last week, I recalled that I had starred a similar repository on GitHub. I searched, though, and today I set up without much hassle on just 2GB RAM and 1vCPU server. It's running very since then. I have added 12 domains, and the CPU usage has been below 10%.

I have yet to verify the alerts in emails and chats via hooks for when services are down, but I have created three public dashboards that I or anyone else can access from anywhere and check via browser till I get them working smoothly.

If anyone has similar needs in my network and needs advice about setting up this monitoring tool, I am happy to help.

  4. Seems that #Google is refusing #ad on a web page that has only #TLS 1.3 allowed. I did "Modern" configuration according ssl-config.mozilla.org/ and I got refused. Same with #StatusCake webcheck, however "Intermediate" configuration with TLS 1.2 and 1.3 with limited cyphers seems OK to then... Anyone with similar experience?
