Note to self: When you migrate your adblocking DNS server from bare metal to docker, make sure to update your monitoring platform so it knows the new addresses/IP's... otherwise your uptime goes to crap.
Also remember to read the notifications from your Teams channel, that receives the notification webhook for down and up notifications; so you don't find this as an afterthought when working out how to monitor if DoH and TLS queries are working.

Switched my uptime monitoring tool from UptimeKuma to gatus. It is much more light weight yet gets the job done. It also requires setting up endpoints using config file instead of the UI which can be a pro or con based on your tastes. I like it so far.
It is using less than 10MiB memory compared to UptimeKuma which was using about 150MiB.

I have not yet implemented it to display maintenance times. I believe #UptimeKuma will internally handle that as up and note the maintenance somewhere else, but I'm not fully sure. -
Wow, schon seit über 14 Jahren überwache ich nun mein Heimnetz mit Icinga.
Ich habe nun die neue Version 2 von Uptime Kuma ausprobiert (https://uptime.kuma.pet/), welches rein auf Netzwerkmonitoring ausgerichtet ist, während Icinga u.a. auch Systemmonitoring beherrscht (Partitionen, Prozesse, Last, etc. überwachen) und über Plugins erweiterbar ist.
Uptime Kuma ist einfacher gestrickt, schnell installiert und lässt sich komplett über die Web UI einrichten. Wenn man so will: Klicki-Bunti für Leute, die schnell Netzwerk-Dienste wie HTTP, DNS etc. überwachen wollen.
Es bietet zudem eine Menge Benachrichtigungsoptionen (E-Mail, Mattermost, Nextcloud, etc.). Schön ist auch, dass man Status-Seiten einrichten kann, die öffentlich einsehbar den Status der Dienste anzeigen.

Obviously you want it on a separate machine to what you're monitoring but it can monitor domains, docker containers MySQL and notify via #discord email and other IM platforms as well as #webhooks basically meaning wherever the f*** you want this thing sending notifications when your website goes down it can be done!

Après une première journée de cours (réflexions en groupes, problématiques de gestion d’inventaires, quelques protocoles standards comme SNMP/WMI/IPMI, présentation de quelques classiques comme Nagios/Centreon/etc) et de TP (mise en place de l’environnement et découverte de #monit ), aujourd’hui on enchaîne sur d’autres protocoles et outils plutôt orientés métriques, puis cet après-midi on fera du #UptimeKuma et de l’automatisation !
