Wrote a review of the first volume of "Stars of Chaos" by Priest 🌸 It's nice to slow down and become immersed in a world very different from our own but which has allegorical references to some of the issues that plague our world politics.

Have just finished reading ch. 17 of “Stars of Chaos” 🌸 It has been a prologue and steampunk world-building. The protagonist, Chang Geng, is an adolescent but he has experienced emotional neglect. The relationship with Gu Yun is tricky but in a familial context; he’s an orphan relating to his godfather.
No indication of a romance but it is fortunate that they are not actually closely related since the plot is heading that way.

It is clear that this a world of imperial intrigue, where secrecy shrouds the identity of important characters. Will be exciting to see how the plot unfolds…

While I’m waiting for volume 2 of “Guardian” to arrive next week, I’ve decided to begin reading “Stars of Chaos” 🌸 If I understand correctly, the first volume has a lot of world building so it will probably take a while to digest.
The plan is therefore to begin it now, then switch to “Guardian” when it arrives and then return to “Stars of Chaos”.
