As I’m wrapping up yet another Empire/Foundation novel I went to Apple TV to see if the next season is out. I saw Star City again. This is the Soviet side of the alt-history For All Mankind. I haven’t disliked Season 4 so much I don’t plan to watch 5. Until tonight I put Star City on the shelf by association too. If Episode 1 is any indication this series looks very good #scifi #StarCity #space

#HeartstopperForever is great and such a good closing for the series, but it's kinda weird they recast Nick's mom with Anna Maxwell Martin (who I just saw in #StarCity as ruthless and cruel KGB officer). Always loved Olivia Colman in that role.

Just watched the finale of #StarCity (the #ForAllMankind spin-off) and damn, if it isn't the best piece of television this year, I don't know what is.
Literally gave me goosebumps.

imagine FAM where the only avenue for you the viewer to feel good is to reflect on how youre a free american and not one of those miserable foreigners oppressed by a regime thats probably their own fault in the first place.
this was some of the most vile, xenophobic propaganda campaigns toadying up to robber baron elites that ive seen. i kept hoping it would execute a clever turn but no. its just a hash of suffering and trauma trying to tell you youve got it better.

imagine a season of FAM where no character ever smiles at another character unless they are gloating or hiding a shameful secret.

CW: Star City season finale spoiler
One of the things I like about For All Mankind is that it's a scientifically mostly-believable alternative history - and up until the final episode of the first season of the spinoff Star City I still felt it was mostly the same there.
Then it just all fell apart :/ I guess for the wider audience it doesn't matter but it really took me out of immersion during multiple parts of the storyline. Unnecessarily so I think too.
Oh well. Still a good show.

The STAR CITY season finale, as well as the entire season, features some of the most riveting drama, action, intrigue, and even romance that I’ve ever seen on the screen, big or small. 
Everybody needs to start watching it so we can get another season! Stellar.
