just had a lovely Petaluma Sunday. Biked to church (signed the membership book, was welcomed by lots of people, sang in the choir), went to excellent poetry reading by Lorrie Chang, Mahrs Emerson Schoppman, and mOody bLaCk at the Phoenix Theater as part of Petaluma Poetry Walk, ran into some friends at another of the poetry walk venues, loitered around in Putnam Plaza Park listening to a jazz group (tight rendition of Sidewinder), biked over to pick up some books from the library, and now home.

I think there's 3 distinct anglo/caucasian populations in Petaluma/Sonoma County.
1. People who used to live in The City (aka SF) or East Bay when It Was Cool and have since moved up here.
2. People whose families have been here forEVER. Ranchers, farmers, city streets with the family name, etc.
3. People who moved here from somewhere else entirely, like me.
No judgment call on any of these.
(*I know nothing about the Hispanic population so I won't speak to that, and Petaluma, at least, seems to have very small african american, asian, south asian, etc population.)

I'm glad they sent me a reminder, I completely forgot that I volunteered to help set-up at the Petaluma River cleanup tomorrow, which means I need to be there at 7:30 AM 🙄
