#Germany asks for forgiveness for its #warcrimes during its #colonial rule in #Tanzania (#German East #Africa, #GEA,from 1885-1919.)

Forgiveness is granted. However, much needs to be done to resolve the massacre of about 300,000 #Africans 117 years ago during the #MajiMaji rebellion:

The #rebellion's leaders were beheaded:

Heute vor 117 Jahren, am 27. Februar 1906, haben deutsche Kolonialisten den Anführer des Maji-Maji-Aufstands, #SongeaMbano, hingerichtet.

In der Stadt #Songea im Süden #Tansania|s, die nach ihm benannt ist, gibt es ein kleines Memorial Museum und eine Grabstätte, der allerdings der Kopf des Toten fehlt. Den haben die Deutschen als Trophäe mitgenommen.
