I had the HUGE pleasure and privlige of playing to Dame Evelyn Glennie last weekend. I was playing a solo cello with cymatics. She played in a piece after me. The event was signed in BSL. After I said to my friend - did you notice she played with no shoes on? and he said no, why? (he didn't know she is deaf & feels the music that way) He was absoluetely blown away. She is a stunning artist & was so kind and liked my piece!

It was a magical evening!

Today I was in a charity shop, and was drawn to some art... mounted on a card, signed, and very unique - and almost free. Hmmm.... came home and looked it up - it was made by a local woman (wait for it) who was a musician, conducted a local orchestra, and was a philanthropist. She died recently and it looks like her art and possibly pottery was donated to the local Stonepillow (homeless charity).

and now it is in my home. There's a reason I was drawn to it.
