We use #skred with my wife on a day to day basis and like it very much. -
@daniel never used WA, SIGNAL with some people, feeling at home with #matrix (#fluffy on ubuntu touch and Linux), being in #conversations with nobody (just once in a while - I guess people feel strangely alone there although I like it!) and testing #skred with somebody.

➡️ 1 / Install it for them
(kinda like saying to grandma after installing rather than explaining), and then just remind them but usual messenger or email to try go to it when you are there or when live chatting switch to the better chat place/#app...➡️ 2/ Being on both and using both - slowing more #Skred than others (soft manipulation)
➡️ 3/ Adding in your descriptions of other profiles you have skred or whatever app as a gradual thing they see.... and maybe link to the installer page. ☑️

(3/3) Prinzipbedingt entsteht bei #Skred keine große Serverlast. Dies ist auch ein Sicherheitsmerkmal, da die Kosten für den Betreiber gering bleiben. Außerdem ist es natürlich gut für die Umwelt. Ich bin auf die Zuverlässigkeit gespannt. Es gibt ja keinen Server, der die Nachrichten zwischenspeichert, wenn man sich in einem Funktloch befindet.

(2/3) In #Skred organisiert man seine Kontakte in Spaces. Beispiel: Ich lege den Space "Mastodon" an. Danach werde ich nach meiner Identität in diesem Space gefragt. Name "Lardier", Profilebild wie hier. Einen Link auf mein Profil noch in dem optionalen Feld hinterlegt. Danach habe ich für diesen Space einen Einladungslink erzeugt, der jetzt in meinem Mastodon-Profil hinterlegt ist. Wenn man eine Einladung erhält, muss man einen Space angeben, mit dem man diese akzeptiert.

(1/3) Auf der Suche nach einem #WhatsApp-Ersatz habe ich mir zuerst die https://www.messenger-matrix.de/ von @kuketzblog angeschaut. Danach war #Matrix mein Favorit. Durch die Seite https://european-alternatives.eu/category/instant-messaging-apps bin ich dann auf #Skred (https://www.skred.app/) unserer Liberté-Égalité-Fraternité-Nachbarn gestoßen. Das Konzept, dass nach dem Verbindungsaufbau die Teilnehmer direkt miteinander kommunizieren, gefällt mir.

#heise hat neulich in einem interessanten Beitrag zu europäischen Alternativen auf den französischen Messenger #skred verwiesen, der Peer-toPeer Kommunikation durchführt. Ein sehr interessanter Ansatz. Für die Vermittlung der Kommunikation sind allerdings Server erforderlich, wie z.B teamviewer das macht. Leider verwendet skred dafür auch (aber nicht ausschließlich) US-Server. Was soll man davon halten? #unplugtrump

J’utilise déjà #Signal. Mais parmi les questions que je pose, je pourrais préciser la question suivante : quelle grande différence y a-t-il entre #Skred et Signal si les deux logiciels permettent une messagerie cryptée de bout en bout ? Question pour les Français·es qui auraient peut-être entendu parler des applications inconnues à l’étranger, #Skred et #Olvid.
Les avez-vous déjà utilisées ? Quels avantages et/ou inconvénients leur trouvez-vous ? Connaissez-vous d’autres services du même type, permettant d’échanger avec des personnes ne disposant pas d’un compte sur la même plateforme (#Discord mis à part) et faciles à utiliser pour des analphabètes informatiques comme moi ?
