we had 12 skaters, so that's 24 costumes. there were 7 (29%) all black costumes, 14 (58%) costumes with sparkles, and only 5 (21%) appearances of gloves.

colour-wise out of remaining 17, 3 were only technically not all black.

the boy needs to learn that he has elbows.
love his camel spins, and as @ergative said, it's glorious to see him fly, but everything else needs so much work.
a true successor to Nathan Chen - great speed and jumps. that's it. and with the current isu judging, that's enough to guarantee him all the gold he can wish for.

i take it back - Kevin made Bolero look amazing. now i believe that he can pull of even Pachelbel's Canon in D.

this is a great program. the one that you rewatch again and again. and i love that Kevin is not killing himself with quads but makes pure art instead. that twizzle entry into triple loop was beautiful!

side thought: is there a wiki of figure skating? i would love to see a list of warhorse music.

well, this free skate was a bit boring.. but again, it's his first senior season. he has time to grow yet.

interesting choice of music too. first "dance of the plum fairy", BUT then it's Ukrainian Щедрик (Shchedryk), which most of the world knows as carol of the bells. Am i reading too much into it?

as for the program itself - well done! i think this is the best i've seen him. and he looked like he was enjoying it.

hooray, some colour! and even tiniest amount of sparkles.

Muse continues to be popular choice.

stacking almost all jumps in the first half - safe choice, but hard to balance such program, especially when one skates without emoting. same as Nordeback, Torgashev wasn't connected with music

of course, it's all black costume (i have started a spreadsheet to track smidgens of colour we get in men's skating)

hitting the fan-favourite elements - ina bauer, hydroblade, and cantilever.

but overall the program feels disjointed. music is in one place, and Andreas is somewhere else. maybe later in the season it gets better, who knows.
