[...] I’m a soldier who wants to remain anonymous.

The following relates to the area between the Yarmouk River in the north and the Alenbi Bridge in the south. The period was the end of July and the beginning of August.

Based on my own personal experience, I can testify to the following facts:

Every night, Arabs [Palestinians; OM] would cross the Jordan from the east bank to the west bank. We captured some of these crossings, and we received orders to shoot -intending to kill - without any prior warning.

Indeed, such shots were fired every night at men, women, and children, even on moonlit nights when the people crossing could be identified- meaning, they were able to distinguish between men and women and children.

In the mornings, we would go out to search the area, and we would kill people according to explicit orders from the officer on the scene - who were the living. This included those hiding and the wounded (and again: women and children among them).

After the killings, we would cover the bodies with earth; sometimes they were left on the ground until a tractor arrived that had previously covered them.

We discussed this all day, and it never stopped occupying us.

There are special cases I will never forget:

One morning, we found two men alive and uninjured. The officer ordered us to finish them off, and that is exactly what happened.

Or the case of two young men found in the morning with injuries to their legs. We spoke with them, and we took the [items/“things” not fully clear in the text] they had with them, and then the commanding officer ordered that they be killed. All of us left the place except one, who shot them with six bullets until he killed them.

On one of the mornings, I also saw bodies piled up - among them, a young woman.

In another incident, a member of Fatah pleaded for his life. When he saw we were preparing to give in (to let him live), he became angry and let out an aggressive curse, and he took our bullets (i.e. we shot him).

And one more case: at night, a group of about twenty men approached. We fired at them. In the morning, we found 11 corpses. Some of them were intact - those who were hiding. We seized them and transferred them across the Jordan without harming them in any way.
