We can enact a state MediCal tax that pays for everyone in California getting a comprehensive public health plan (as in Canada or Medicare), and save billions from no longer paying corporate profits and a layer of administrative waste.

Theoretically, California has a Democratic Governor and a Democratic supermajority in the state legislature, and we could create a state universal health care system that could be a model for the nation.
