Radio Propagation
Good tropospheric propagation at VHF is allowing extended reception of AIS signals between The Bay of Biscay and the UK (>500km).
It seems that not many amateur operators are taking advantage of the opening yet...

Radio propagation:
Strong to very strong tropospheric radio propagation is continuing around the coasts of Europe. I am receiving AIS signals from near the NW corner of Spain at ~1016km (~549nm).
Tropospheric radio propagation is a phenomenon that mostly affects VHF and UHF radio frequencies.

Radio propagation:
Strong to very strong tropospheric conditions are continuing to affect N and NW Europe as a high pressure establishes over the region.
See the alt-text for more details of what the maps show.
