"Magic: The Gathering. . .which I’ve long understood to be a powerful force for community all around the world. . .extends to the Japanese screamo scene, as new group Sheoldred (named after a doom-bringing beast from the game) finds players from across the nation’s heavier sound including two from moreru (one of which is Dex aka That Same Street) coming together to create a vaguely card-based screamo supergroup. I’m not going to pretend to get any of the references buried within, but I can appreciate a barrage of guttural screaming, so I’m glad this exercise in card gaming could create a group."
