So this is "exciting:" I just got a light meter upgrade.
I've been using this #Gossen pilot for some time now, and while it's good... it's kinda broken. But, the local hamfest had one vendor that actually gave me a #Sekonic model 38, which seems to be in better condition.
The problem with the Gossen is that the actual needle has broken off, so it's quite short (shorter than the yellow pointer), and that the white plastic cover to slide over the sensor (to make it more of a scene average than specific spot reading) has cracked, meaning I don't trust using it.
The Sekonic needed a little calibration, but it's running pretty close to what my #Nikon D7000 is reading in matrix metering mode, so I'll call that good enough.
