57 years ago today, a slag heap from a local coal mine in Aberfan, Wales, slipped after months of heavy rainfall. It collapsed onto the local school where 144 people were killed, including 116 primary aged school children.

For the last few years, whenever people mention things like "worst disaster", or "most deaths", I think about the pandemic that we're still living through.

My take: Covid taught me that most people would distance themselves from me because I didn't want to get a zombie bite as well.
They are very much not avoiding it like the plague.... Or maybe they are, and they'd welcome the plague with open arms as well.
