The final step of Project Foraged Sea Buckthorn Cordial: making the actual sirup. Wasn't too hard to make, though getting the damn berries off the branches was a bit laborious.

Like I mentioned yesterday, I really wanted to go foraging, so we set course for the same place today, but... I found a bush right next to a bike path on the way there. My eyes got really good at spotting them now.

We had an impulsive cargo bike adventure today. My son was coughing a bit too much for him to go to the nursery, but was also a bit too energetic to stay inside all day.
As luck would have it, we stumbled across a treasure trove of sea buckthorn ("havtorn")!
Not only is it a great source of vitamin C, it's also quite the tasty berry, if a bit sour. I will probably come back here to pick up more, as I really love the cordial you can make from it.
