Someone from "Rogers Mobility" called and tried to scam me today.
I'm not a Rogers Mobility customer. My phone number used to be part of a Fido (later Rogers) block decades ago, so scammers try this on the regular.
Unfortunately, Canada isn't really serious about blocking scammers. If we were, I'd have a Report Scam button that would barrel right through the fake call display info. I know I don't need it to be displayed to me for it to be reported in the backend. #Fraud #Canada #ScamCalls
A recent CNET Group survey of 1,000 US adults found that 80% of respondents receive fake texts or emails every week.
Spam calls are also frequent: 75% said they get them at least weekly, while 29.4% reported scam calls six or more times a week.
