  6. CW: Content Warning usage is bizarre.

Been thinking about Content Warnings (CW) and how I should use them. Thought I'd look at my feed and scroll back to the last twenty CW's. Look what wasn't CW'd and what was CW'd.
Un-CW'd Topics that were posted about but are potential CW
    a. mass shooting
    b. homosexuality
    c. Child abuse
    d. Crimes committed by Drug Cartels in Mexico against the church
    e. Church division
    f. Abuse and Trauma within the church
    g. Racism
    h. Drag, Trans and kids
    i. Killed in the line of duty
    j. Christian Nationalists are satanic
    k.- Auschwitz

Here are the first twenty Content Warnings (from the same data set)

    2. online communities and trust

    17. CW about CWs

    19. mastodon
    20. Christian Nationalism

Looks like CW's are primarily about providing post summaries or talking about things the the poster is sad about. Not what the audience might not want to see. I suspect the sentiment of 'I feel strongly about this and I want everyone to know' leads people to not think about CW which would reduce the reach.
note: most of the people I follow are Christians. Covering a diverse range of theologies.
