Live and recent posts from across the Fediverse tagged #saskparty, aggregated by home.social.

  1. This is a pretty badass recap of the last year dealing with the Sask Party. They admitted up front that they need to do better, we elected an entire opposition government to hold them to task, and they ignored us on issue after issue.

Edit: with the party's permission, I got the raw video to post here so you don't have to deal with Meta :)

  2. Hey look at that, the very first priority according to the #SaskParty is your kids' genitals. What a weird thing to be obsessed with. #skpoli cbc.ca/news/canada/saskatchewa

  3. Keep an ear out for political ads this week.

#SaskNDP is running on a platform for change, addressing pain points and planning to improve quality of life for everyone in Saskatchewan.

#SaskParty's messaging is "how dare the NDP say things are bad".

  4. CW: Sask Poli / Teachers' Strike

Sure wish the #saskparty would get back to the table and address class size and complexity.

  5. CW: Sask Teachers Strike

By now, you've seen the government's latest attempt to spin their harmful education cuts — billboards plastered around the province with misleading messages about investment in schools.

Let's cut through the spin and correct the record.

  6. CW: Sask poli, teacher strike

Marching with my #teacher friends and family on a 1-day #strike today. All they want is enough resources for the classroom. The #saskparty isn't even open to talking about it. They continue to demonstrate thay do not care about #education.

  7. CW: #Sask Politics - Teacher Job Action

Woodshedding ideas for picket signs for tomorrow's job action:

WHY DOES THE SASK PARTY HATE EDUCATION?

    TIRED OF SASK PARTY BULLSHIT

    Open to ideas.

  8. While the #Saskatchewan government is focused on pronouns and poppies and flagpoles (on my), there are real crises in this province that they are ignoring in education, healthcare and housing. Their arrogance assumes everyone in the province has the same priorities as they do, which is why they lost 10 points in the polls since the spring.

  9. In theory, Section 33 guards against judicial overreach and allows elected parliamentarians to carry out their duties unimpeded.
In practice, Section 33 has been used disproportionately by provincial governments to target minorities in order to impose populist agendas.

  10. Who else thinks that Saskatchewan's Ombudsman - Sharon Pratchler - will end up losing her job or moved to some other position where she can't speak out against this government soon. #skpoli #sked #abuse #saskparty

  11. @deesenaughts @D00B You are delusional

    First of all

    > Scum like you NEVER question how things are, or ask who really holds power.

I ask these kinds of questions, and I challenge you to find someone else asking about the connection between the #truckersforcovid and putin. And between the exact mechanisms of control from the #IDU to the #saskparty out here. I'll wait. A good part of my podcast was explaining, step by step, what kinds of power there is under the surface, and stuff like the continued existence of the anti- #greatcloudwall project is evidence against your claim.

There are power struggles going on in the world, and one of them is about public health. In Canada, the provinces are responsible for public health - and each province is handling this differently. Here in #saskatchewan, the progressives haven't been in power for well over a decade and are effectively politically marginalized. The anti-public health conservatives are the ones setting public policy, and *they* are the ones you would have a problem with if you have a problem with how things are run here.
  12. > Canada already has laws in place that prevent forced therapy practices

This seems...wrong somehow. Are these provincial laws?

Remember; the #saskparty, when they first got into office, campaigned on keeping "conversion therapy" aka torture of gay teens legal.

#therebel and I seem to live in different realities on this one
  13. “(It is) security best practice to not disclose technical details of any nature or issue,” Church said.

in other words "our security is so shitty we can't even talk about it in public"

This is #securitybyobscurity, which is exactly the level of incompetence I expect from the #saskparty government

  14. btw

#SaskPower had plenty of time to transition to renewables and to upgrade the grid to be prepared for catastrophic climate change before Trudeau came to office. @saskboy had been on them for quite a few years to that effect. The fact they are saying Trudeau is causing them problems now is mostly a testament to the fact that they've been used as a cash cow for the #saskparty like #sasktel.
