The heat wave has arrived in San Diego County today, with several records broken. Temperatures have reached the mid-90s all the way to the coast. All of our valley locations are in the triple digits.
Saturday looks like a very tough day for us. Latest high-resolution guidance brings triple-digit heat all the way to the coast. A moderate Santa Ana event will drop relative humidity levels into the single digits.
A Wind Advisory is in effect for Saturday for our valley and mountain locations because of the Santa Anas. Fire danger will be high. Any fire that starts will spread rapidly.
Finally, rolling blackouts are possible in the mountains and foothills as SDG&E cuts power to reduce fire risk and help take strain off our power grid.

Looks like another fire starting up north. Not sure where, but looks like Santa Clarita or Acton area, maybe.
I think that makes the 8th fire since yesterday morning. Not counting the couple of small trash fires I heard of around town here overnight.

Woke up to this sight. Smoke is from the #EatonCanyonFire We are not in danger from the fires, here. But the winds are bringing the smoke over the valley.
So far, we've weathered the #SantaAnaWinds relatively well. Will need to chevron the yard when the sun comes up and the winds calm some. But, we've lost half out back gate and part of the housing for the water heater. No major damage to the house, though.
Hopefully that stays the case. Still anticipating 20-30mph sustained winds today.
