@Muppensish sorry i have cognitive difficulties and got confused. it's NOT an xperia it's a #jollaC2 phone, an open source phone from a small company in finland. they use #sailfish only in their phones.

This is going to mean:
- No banking apps (but websites are ok of course)
- No navigation with live traffic updates (I'll be late for things, but I don't want to install Google-owned Waze on it)
- No WhatsApp (You can't have it on multiple devices
- While I do have Facebook messenger installed, no other notifications from Facebook as it's only available in the browser
- No NFC payments ...
- Ropey GPS
(I don't use tiktok so despite the previous post that isn't a concern)

So, I sort of hate iOS and Android; I'm definitely not a fan of Apple or Google. Are there any reasonable options for a smartphone outside of those two?

I was looking at Sailfish OS, which seems nice (and can run Android apps for those things that need it), but it runs on Jolla phones, and those don't ship to Canada. 🇨🇦

Oder eher so wie damals als #MeeGo mit #LiMo zu #Tizen verschmolz?

Aber vlt. sind diese historischen Begebenheiten bei Projekten die sich aus #MeeGo abgeleitet haben auch einfach noch nicht angekommen?
