Update: I call this deck “Pilot & Sorcerer.” I’ll tweak the purple for better contrast as it’s pretty hard to see in dim lighting—i.e. a cantina—but they look pretty sick otherwise. 🤩
I still have to decide how far I want to take this idea… I kind of want to design a whole standalone game with chips and dice and everything, but producing that on demand gets pricey. And I don’t know if there would actually be enough interest to do a crowdfunded run to bring the price down.

It took way too long, but I finally have a properly set-up sabacc card template for standard poker-sized playing cards, including the bleed and safe area in Inkscape.

I’m thrilled to report that I got a real Sabacc set (cards and dice!) for Christmas, AND I am the standing champion of the first annual family tournament. 😁

Of course this does mean that I'm currently a bit obsessed with Sabacc, the in-universe equivalent to poker. I may or may not be 3D printing my own chips and tokens as I write this… now to find a nice set of cards!

I'm glad I bought a couple of these #Sabacc decks now while on the #StarWars #GalacticStarcruiser. I kinda like the Coruscant Shift edition more than the Corellian Spike edition sold in Disney's #GalaxysEdge.

Why I liked "#Solo: A #StarWars Story":
1. Qi'ra, Lando, Dryden were all extremely well-written & well-cast.
2. The #Sabacc play made me swoon, (Suck it, Corellian Spike! 😉)
3. Corellia. The Ground Battles. The Heist. Dryden Vos. Kessel Run. The whole damn thing was fun.
4. A melancholy ending. As it should be IMHO.

Now I fully concede to not initially liking "Solo" much, but after some time, it was a solid movie & I'd totally be excited for a sequel... esp. following up on Crimson Dawn. -

@lloydian So this was "hand-dealt #Sabacc" & not #GalacticStarcruiser Holo-Sabacc, right?
It's the Sublight Lounge Holo-Sabacc table I'm curious about! Folks have told me that Holo-Sabacc is different where you select from 5 cards initially. Do I have that right?
I'm asking cuz this is a video of Mike & Emily of Hyperspace Props - actual Sabacc experts - and they were fumbling around trying to figure out the differences on the Holo-Sabacc table! #StarWars

I think the #HyperspaceProps decks & dice are my favorite.

@KotMinou In high school, I once dated someone who wore her hair, for a time, as Leia does in the original #StarWars.
As for #Sabacc, it's the card game that Han Solo plays against Lando Calrissian to win the Millenium Falcon. There's a whole market of related products for it on Etsy these days. It isn't poker, but it has parallels.

By the way, to add to my #introduction, I'm a big #StarWars fan. And it goes back to my teen years in the 70s. My new interest is in #Sabacc in many variations. But I'm especially fond of the version played on the #GalacticStarcruiser (aka #Halcyon). When I took the cruise (mine was quite eventful, but I'm sure others are more mundane), I came in 2nd place in the on board tournament. I'd love to find others interested in the game.
