Samsung releases the February 2026 security patch for the Galaxy S26 series
Samsung have released the February 2026 security patch for the majority of Galaxy users worldwide. As per their rollout schedule for security updates, Samsung have released the patch to the Galaxy S26 users, starting from the Korean version.
Two days before the global release of the flagship Galaxy S26 series, the security patch has been released as in the security update rollout schedule, and we should expect the Galaxy S26 to be updated to the March security update by the end of March as the phone series gets updated on a monthly basis.
That was because the Galaxy S26 was unveiled with the January 2026 security patch (AZAB/AZAQ).
The following firmware information is found:
- SM-S948N: S948NKSS1AZC7 [KOO, SKC, KTC, LUC]
- SM-S947N: S947NKSS1AZC7 [KOO, SKC, KTC, LUC]
- SM-S942N: S942NKSS1AZC7 [KOO, SKC, KTC, LUC]
To update your Galaxy to this security update, follow these steps:
- Open Settings, and navigate to System Update
- Tap on Check for Updates
- Press Download and Install
- Wait until the download and the installation is complete, then press Reboot Now
- Wait until the phone reboots successfully
Make sure that you’re connected to a stable and fast Wi-Fi network to avoid high mobile data fees. Never interrupt the update in any way, or problems could occur later. Make sure that you apply all available updates once you update your phone for maximum stability. An update might take 5 to 10 minutes to apply, depending on the device and the type of the update being applied.
If you’re seeing “Your software is up to date,” this means that the update hasn’t reached your device yet. Keep checking for updates, as Samsung rolls it out gradually to all devices from country to country, usually starting from Korea.

One UI 8 for Galaxy S25 and Z Fold7 will feature the new photo watermark!
The new photo watermark feature will make its way to the latest One UI 8 version for the Galaxy S25 series and the Galaxy Z Fold7 foldable. While we are awaiting the stable One UI 8 rollout on September, with the fifth beta for the Galaxy S25 being scheduled for this week, the new photo watermark feature has been showcased by PhoneArt on X.
This new photo watermark comes in two styles: landscape and portrait. Below, you can see the two watermark styles, with the top being for portrait images, and the bottom being for landscape images.
As you can see, the images have a border that describes the device used, which, in this case, the Galaxy S25 Ultra. It also contains the date and the time the picture was taken, and a bunch of camera parameters used when taking the picture.
Currently, there is no information as to when and what devices will be eligible for this feature, other than the fact that the Galaxy S25 and the Z Fold7 will get it in the latest One UI 8 update. However, it might come to other eligible devices, like the Galaxy S24.

One UI 8 Beta 4 has the Purple Moon issue
One UI 8 Beta 4 was released on July 30th to the beta testers who are using their Galaxy S25 devices (excluding the S25 Edge) to use what would look like in the final version expected to roll out this September. As we’re getting closer to the second half of August, people began reporting a weird case that didn’t happen in both the previous One UI 8.0 beta versions and in One UI 7.0.
According to the official Samsung forums across countries like India, UK, and the USA, people began reporting that they’re trying to take moon shots at high zoom levels, such as x100, while those final pictures showed the purple moon instead of the expected white moon. The real color of the moon is white, but One UI 8.0 Beta 4 seems to save pictures with the purple moon as you can see below.
The following forum entries are posted, but not limited to:
- New Discovery of a Purple Moon?
- Anyone else on latest One UI 8 beta release experience purple moons?
- The Moon Is Now Purple
- One ui 8 beta
- Camara con UI 8 , samsung S25 Ultra
- Moon shots are showing as pink
- Moon appears in purple 😂😂
This issue only occurs when people try to take moon shots at zoom levels, with the minimum threshold to trigger this bug is x30. This only occurs under One UI 8 Beta 4 and with moon shots taken starting from the zoom levels of x30 to x100. Additionally, the resulting moon in the pictures looks blurry, compared to their One UI 7 counterparts.
There was even a comparison between shots taken on One UI 8 and One UI 7, where the latter was more correct. Moon shots taken using One UI 7 were correct, because it showed the white moon instead of the purple moon.
As a workaround, you can try turning off the maximum optimization and trying to take moon shots at high zoom levels. You can turn off the maximum optimization by going to the camera settings, navigating to Intelligent optimization, and setting it to values other than Maximum.
We expect that Samsung fixes this issue as soon as possible, before the final version gets distributed.

Samsung will expand One UI 8 Beta Program to more devices
Today, Samsung officially announced in their newsroom blog article that said that they were expanding the Beta Program to more devices starting August 11th, 2025. The beta program officially started on May 28th for the Galaxy S25 devices. Just like One UI 7 whose beta program was made initially available only for the Galaxy S24 devices before the official expansion on March, the company wanted to expand the Beta Program of the upcoming One UI 8 software based on Android 16.
As per the official announcement, the following devices in Korea, the USA, the UK, and India (excluding Poland and Germany) will experience the One UI 8 Beta Program in this date:
- Galaxy S24 / S24+ / S24 Ultra
- Galaxy Z Fold6 (excluding Z Fold Special Edition)
- Galaxy Z Flip6
The beta program will also extend to the Galaxy Watch6 and the Galaxy Watch5 smartwatches, which should happen later as they’ve announced it when they started the beta program for One UI 8 Watch.
Whereas the official version will be rolled out to all eligible Galaxy devices, starting from the Galaxy S25 series family, including the Galaxy S25 Edge, to older devices that will gradually get the update. This rollout will happen as the summer concludes itself, and September is the chosen month.
However, One UI 8 Watch will make its way to more smartwatches, including the Galaxy Watch4, later this year. Those who have already participated to the beta program should update to the official version once it’s out.
