Today, I finally got around to repasting and repadding my GPU (RX 5700XT). The thermal pads had gotten dried out and flaky. It took about 15 minutes to unscrew everything, wipe it all down with 99% alcohol, measure and cut pads, repaste, and put back together.
Superposition 1080p Extreme: 5073 score, max GPU temp 75°C. It's not bad for a 7 year old GPU.

at some point i had to downgrade my gpu from #amd #radeon #rx6700xt to #rx5700xt
bc performance in blender's dyntopo is getting worse and worse with each rdna generation:

Opened a ticket at the manufacturer of my graphics card. Those random crashes doesn't seem to be coincidence or just my problems. Read about a couple of people having problems with Radeon RX 5700 XT cards under Linux. We'll see what Powercolor says about it.
It's just not getting better with technology and I hate it.
