    CW: Marketing driven ineffective approaches to mental health

    There is a very small set of people who I will ask if they are OK. These are people who if they say No I will offer help and then (and this is the important bit) be willing to actually drop things and go help. Anything else is performative and harmful. It's about you making yourself think you're helping rather than actually helping, because you likely cannot or will not help strangers and acquaintances. Miss me with that.

    Someone should put together all the companies making a Big Show of today alongside the Glassdoor reviews explaining in detail how psychologically abusive their workplaces are.

    Like the White Ribbon ambassadors that love doing domestic violence.

    Instead of stupid fucking cupcakes and shit biscuits, why not vote for people that want to increase accessdibility to mental health services? Or just, I don't know, have opinions that the entire fucking health system should be well funded and accessible to all, not just the privileged few.

    I was talking to someone earlier this week about how #RUOKDAY gets an unnecessarily bad wrap (sometimes) in Australia.

    Some of the criticisms of RUOK Day unwittingly support neoliberal conceptions of mental health.

    I think we can demand more from government while also re-enlivening our sense of community to support one another.
