#Capitalism shouldn't be blamed for the problems created by #statism. Please read the works of #Mises and #Rothbard on this topic.

"This year would have been his 100th birthday, and we are paying special tribute to his legacy all year long. While we would love to know what he would think of the world in 2026—the federal government plummeting, the corporate press increasingly neutered, alternative and even subversive content freely circulating—we are fortunate to have a global network of Rothbardians that continues his battle against the state."

Reddit’s a total shithole now. Freedom of speech? Forget it - threads get strangled the second someone says something real. Proper debate dies on arrival. And if these gutless censors are the voice of the US Dem Party, then the party is a fiction. It's merely a cabal of craven, criticism-phobic authoritarians, hiding their fear behind a facade of progress. Where's the liberalism? Ah, but it's spam. The perfect, cowardly alibi.

"Chuang Tzu wrote, ‘The common people have a constant nature; they spin and are clothed, till and are fed... it is what may be called their “natural freedom”’. These people of natural freedom were born and died themselves, suffered from no restrictions or restraints, and were neither quarrelsome nor disorderly. If rulers were to establish rites and laws to govern the people, ‘it would indeed be no different from stretching the short legs of the duck and trimming off the long legs of the heron’ or ‘haltering a horse’. Such rules would not only be of no benefit, but would work great harm. In short, Chuang Tzu concluded, the world ‘does simply not need governing; in fact it should not be governed’." — Murray N. Rothbard.

"‘Mercantilism’ is the name given by late nineteenth century historians to the politico-economic system of the absolute state from approximately the sixteenth to the eighteenth centuries. Mercantilism has been called by various historians or observers a ‘system of Power or State-building’ (Eli Heckscher), a system of systematic state privilege, particularly in restricting imports or subsidizing exports (Adam Smith), or a faulty set of economic theories, including protectionism and the alleged necessity for piling up bullion in a country. In fact, mercantilism was all of these things; it was a comprehensive system of statebuilding, state privilege, and what might be called ‘state monopoly capitalism’.", - Murray N.Rothbard.

This is not socialism, but (economic) #interventionism, #statism. Read #Mises, #Rothbard on this.

Hayek was a good thinker and a freedom fighter. But I prefer #Mises and #Rothbard. They both left us two brilliant economic treatises: "Human Action" and "Man, Economy, and State with Power and the Market."

"Union strikes and restrictions. Unions have become a nuisance with power to cripple the economy, but only as a result of numerous special privileges afforded by the government; especially various immunities accorded unions, particularly the Wagner Act of 1935, still in effect, which compels employers to bargain with unions which gain a majority vote of a “bargaining unit” arbitrarily defined by the government itself."

"Government control inevitably follows government privilege, and, as in the Fascist or Communist countries, privileged unionism has become in effect a powerful arm of the State apparatus for controlling the labor force and the economic system as a whole. Rather than representing their members, union leaders have been coopted into the power elite, there to serve as transmission belts for keeping the workers under the control of the various governmental “guidelines”" — Murray N. Rothbard, Left and Right.

About UBI: "But there is an extremely important catch: the costs are estimated on the assumption that everyone — the people on the universal dole as well as those financing it — will continue to work to the same extent as before. But this assumption begs the question. For the chief problem is the enormously crippling disincentive effect the guaranteed annual income will have on taxpayer and recipient alike."

I think you understand perfectly well that your objections are very weak. Yes, philosophers knew that there are ends and means, but no one except #Mises (and #Rothbard!) was able to build a complete (and correct!) theory of human action, praxeology and its main part - #economics.
-
"The present work (#mespm) deduces the entire corpus of economics from a few simple and apodictically true axioms: the Fundamental Axiom of action—that men employ means to achieve ends, and two subsidiary postulates: that there is a variety of human and natural resources, and that leisure is a consumers’ good."

"We must realize that from the point of view of justice or of economic prosperity, the less people are taxed, the better. That is why we should rejoice at every new loophole, new credit, new manifestation of the “underground” economy.… Every economic activity that escapes taxes and controls is not only a blow for freedom and property rights; it is also one more instance of a free flow of productive energy getting out from under parasitic repression." — Murray N. Rothbard, Economic Controversies.

"Logically, the infant industry argument must be applied to interlocal and interregional trade as well as international. Failure to realize this is one of the reasons for the persistence of the argument. Logically extended, in fact, the argument would have to imply that it is impossible for any new firm to exist and grow against the competition of older firms, wherever their locations." — Murray N. Rothbard, Man, Economy, and State with Power and Market.

"One of the main reasons for the popularity of Karl Marx and John Maynard Keynes among intellectuals was precisely the staggering obscurity of their prose; only when a writer is obscure can a cult of followers gather around to serve as the semi-official interpreters and exegetes of the Master." — Murray N. Rothbard, Libertarian Forum.

"… a thief who presumed to justify his theft by saying that he was really helping his victims by his spending, thus giving retail trade a needed boost, would be hooted down without delay. But when this same theory is clothed in Keynesian mathematical equations and impressive references to the “multiplier effect,” it carries far more conviction with a bamboozled public." — Murray N. Rothbard, For a New Liberty.

How is a true economic theory created? Economics is based on a nature of a man. As Rothbard put it: "The present work deduces the entire corpus of economics from a few simple and apodictically true axioms: the Fundamental Axiom of action—that men employ means to achieve ends, and two subsidiary postulates: that there is a variety of human and natural resources, and that leisure is a consumers’ good."

It seems you want to discredit the market #economy and #money. But money is just a useful tool that allows the economy to work. Without money, you would not be able to exist in this world.

People refuse to understand that true capitalism, that is, a free market economy, is not what we have now, interventionism, that is, a distorted market economy. These systems have different characteristics, so one should not blame the former for the shortcomings of the latter. Read/listen to Rothbard, waste no time!

#Rothbard wrote very clearly on this matter. Religion served the state, not capitalists.

Friedman is not worth reading. He is a statist disguised as a free marketeer. #Rothbard is much better.
1) Some politicians in the US try/have tried to implement Mises' ideas, but most politicians do not.
2) Yes, I agree. But it is not Mises or his ideas' fault. Quite the contrary.
3) Yes.
-
#UBI will destroy any economy if implemented consistently. You simply do not understand the consequences of this process.
A minimum wage cannot raise or maintain the standard of living, but it can easily create #unemployment among those who cannot earn more than the established limit.
Prices are rising not because of "greed" but because central banks, i.e. governments create more and more money. This is real inflation.
Read #Mises and #Rothbard on this issue. -
Workers are not victims. Capitalists and entrepreneurs are not criminals. Unfortunately, in saying this you are relying on a flawed economic theory. In a market economy, any activity has a fair price unless it is too constrained by the state or trade unions. #Workers contribute their share to the process of producing consumer goods. You can read/listen to #Mises' and #Rothbard's books on the issue.

"So only little boys infected with socialist #propaganda can blame Mises for his words."
"You are economically ignorant and perhaps dishonest."
"...but stupid boys infected with statist #propaganda hate #Rothbard for his proposals to make people, especially children, less unhappy."
"If you wish to remain in a state of happy #ignorance about #economics, you can continue to read Graeber's book."
Seems to be a libertarian thing where you get to be arrogant but nobody else is supposed to be 🤔

"Inalienable Rights: Part I The Basic Argument" - what #Nozick and #Rothbard got wrong
https://www.ellerman.org/inalienable-rights-part-i-the-basic-argument/
“An inalienable right is a right that may not be ceded or transferred away even with the consent of the holders of the right. Any contract to alienate such a right would be an inherently invalid contract, and, vice-versa, a right such that any contract to alienate it was inherently invalid would thus be an inalienable right.”

Odnośnie "afery" z Orlenem polecam poczytać Rothbarda… Serio.
