Since #totp has finished, I'll switch modes and do a rugby update. We're still in south Wales, this time literally. Another one-season team from that part of the world, formed on the back of enthusiasm following the excellent Welsh display at #rlwc 1995.
They had a reasonable squad, reasonable financial guarantees, and were almost invited into #SuperLeague for 1997 after a steady 1996, but #Gateshead were chosen instead, which in some ways may have been the better pick. #rugbyleague

Of the more established countries, #Netherlands has seen the strongest rise with a strong run of victories during 2022. #Greece and #Jamaica have declined since their World Cup outings. #rlwc

Amazing game in #rlwc. After disappointment in the men’s and women’s, England’s wheelchair team have done it.
Fantastic game! Both teams played brilliantly, but after that second half England deserved to come out on top.
