I bet in the end they do not commit to this - it provides too much ammo for #nativists to be wound up. And my guess is that the leadership are just flying this kite to get the #rightPopulists wound up and made to look silly
Shame though - to have lived & worked here for decades - even brought up kids - and not have the vote seems wrong
OTOH if you are in that place you should be able to get a UK passport
