Taking proton pump inhibitors as antacids in addition to #cortisone can diminish bone density in #rheumatism patients. Those are the results of a study performed by #CharitéBerlin, published in Mayo Clinic Proceedings.

#Cortisone is highly effective at inhibiting the immune system – but how does it do it? A team from #CharitéBerlin & @FAU now shows @Nature that cortisone reprograms the metabolism of immune cells, activating a natural inflammatory “brake” present in the body. Based on their findings, the researchers now plan to develop anti-inflammatory treatments lower in side effects.

It’s good that they call it #LongCovid. Imagine the panic if they would call it #diabetes, #dementia, #asthma, #vasculitis or #rheumatism. People would maybe even start protecting themselves.
So let’s call it #PASC or reference some other conditions nobody ever heard about. Preferably those which can be discussed as psychosomatic.
