It took some thinking, but I have found pins for both my filament sensors, the PZ Revo probe, X end-stop and made a custom lead so I can plug the Revo heater core and thermistor in to the CAN bus BTT EBB tool head board. Lots of crimping connectors and now the rest of my problems will be in the software config. #Voron #3dprinting #Revo

Spent some of this evening trying to rescue a very battery-corroded #Psion #Revo power/IrDA board. It's not perfect, but it's much better than it was.

"Dead" Revo units often just need a new battery pack, but get to them quickly or the blue goo will get it!

Well, it arrived Monday and as of too-late-last-night, I got it assembled and working :ablobcatbongo:

Initial thoughts:

* Hardest part of assembly: getting those darn square nuts into the slots in the parts I needed to print. Eventually figured out that it was way easier to use pliers to do it, but my fingers are still sore :|

* Second hardest part: wrapping cables in the nylon cable sleeves :|

* Works just fine with my #Revo hot-end, though as acknowledged the self-check does fail. Apparently a future firmware update will fix that, but an error message has never stopped me before so in the meantime, 🙈

* The pre-heating behavior is sooo much nicer. I used to babysit the start of prints to grab the bits of filament that'd inevitably drip out while the heatbed was still heating, but now it just heats the hotend to ~60C lower than the actual print temp and finishes heating after so there's no dripping! Incredible.

* It looks so smooth and so fast in motion. And it is quick! Love it.

I tried changing the nozzle in my Revo for the first time. The hotend ran straight into the bed and bent the nozzle. I think the PrusaSlicer profile got screwed up when I changed the nozzle size.

So the #Revo heater core replacement went fine (remains to be seen whether it's any more stable), but now the whole hotend is half a millimeter off from where it used to be. If I can't get a suitable z-offset I'm going to have to fiddle with the PINDA again.

I almost wish it just had bed screws for leveling. #3DPrinting

#vegantest Revo Salmon Spread (gefunden bei Edeka auf #Helgoland) – Optisch weniger pink als erwartet. Geschmacklich prägnante Lachsnote, die allerdings sofort von einem Erbsenbeigeschmack erschlagen wird. Eine sehr unangenehme Mischung, die mich davon entfernt hat, auch die Scheiben Graved Lachs (!) von der Firma zu testen. 2 von 5 Sternchen.
