Have recently started using the @rdns app. I have been blown away by the things that we can do with this app. App monitoring, custom VPN per app, dns monitoring of each app are the things that I needed badly. Thank you team for making such a wonderful app. I just hope we get similar thing for macos and ios too. One suggestion though: the app feels like high on technical terms. But I get it, this is not everyone's cup of ☕. #privacy #DNS #rethinkdns #vpn #wireguard

So my experience with @murena #eos has not been so great since their 4.11* release. The internet connection broke after installing the release. I think it might be a broken DNS configuration on the device. After disabling automatic DNS and Advanced privacy, I was able to get the WiFi working correctly (for now) by installing #RethinkDNS. Ive also noticed a strange app running that i never noticed before from Qualcomm so maybe there coukd be an issue there as well. #fairphone #fairphone6 #fp6

This is the phone I'm talking about that I revived, the on5xelte. Released in 2016. I think we got this when we were in Australia way back then. Passed down from my family and now to me, the caretaker of old, forgotten and dead phones and tablets.

I installed F-Droid then Termux, some Fossify apps, Ironfox, Rethink app and Open Camera cos I modded it and I didn't put GApps on it so no android webview thingy and deffo no google play services.

Battery's still good but it uses Micro-USB lmao. I have a ton of Micro-USB cables tho so it was no problem. Screen's still alright, it's just really fucking small for my big bear paws. Volume button's spotty though.

God, 10 years ago was pretty alright. Phones sucked, computer parts kinda sucked but they were pretty fucking affordable back then.

Empecemos con RethinkDNS.La aplicación es un cortafuegos con una personalización muy amplia tiene desde reglas universales hasta la capacidad de usar orbot como proxy.Tiene mucho de que hablar pero voy a resumirlo.Tiene mucho servidores DNS para elegir desde Quad9 hasta Cloudflare.También tiene su propio DNS que se puede personalizar con listas de bloqueo que también se puede hacer con los demás servidores solo que hay descargar las listas bloqueo por aparte para utilizarlo en esos servidores.
Es compatible con Wireguard como proxy.Tiene registros locales de cada conexión realizada mientras la aplicación esta activa.Puedes realizar copias de seguridad para tener tus ajuste guardados tanto local como en la nube.En general es una de las mejores herramientas para controlar el tráfico de la red local.Aunque me faltaron funciones por decir, en todo este tiempo que llevo usándolo ha cubrido casi todas las necesidades por las que uso.Yo le doy 20/10.Igual no se tomen mi reseña muy en serio ya que solo quise dar mi opinión acerca de esta app xD.

There is a big difference between the #Android on the phone you just bought and something like #LineageOS. That becomes obvious when you install something like #RethinkDNS (it's a firewall app). In the first you can see all kinds of weird calls to random servers from and on the second it's just what you expected. On top of that on Lineage all my #FOSS services don't get randomly killed or not allowed to update their status.

On my TCL, it becomes frustrating, when it decides to kill the Fossify phone app and just locks the screen when someone is trying to call me. It also randomly tries to kill RethinkDNS, but I mitigated it by enforcing VPN. So, firewall or no network, sucker!

I've tried to block the so called Google Framework service, but suddenly some apps started to misbehave.

There was also a Facebook service (which is a completely different thing from the app), but unlike the Google Framework it does not make the phone to misbehave so I have disabled it.

I've made  F-droid my main app store, on my Samsung, by installing its system service manually, because the package is broken. I hope someone fixes it.

@kuketzblog Bei #RethinkDNS sollte man noch Firewall > Universelle Firewallregeln > "Blockieren, wenn DNS umgangen wird" aktivieren und beobachten. Es gibt ein paar Apps, die über die IP-Adressen auf Server zugreifen und damit DNS-Filter umgehen.
