  1. @juddlegum I guess the question is, essential to what/whom…? It seems more likely that it is the completion of the work that is essential, not the actual humans doing the work, that matters to the bosses and shareholders. Without respect for the quality of life of those doing the jobs, and an insistence that the work must be completed without regard for any other consideration, they are essentially trying to impose a model of slavery on the workforce.
