Dear Sen/ Rep --Sen. Andy Kim on Tuesday unveiled a proposal for all American children to receive Medicare, called MediKids. I want you to support this bill.
At a time when families with kids lack health insurance and children face unacceptably high rates of infant and child mortality, this bill would ensure that all children have health insurance. It is appalling that children go without health care because of what their parents earn, their zip code, or whether they can navigate a complex and fragmented health care system.
Nearly 24% of working Americans stay in the job that they have just for the health insurance, according to a recent poll by Gallup and West Health. The worry of losing benefits for their families inhibits the ability of people to switch jobs or careers, and economists have long warned that tying family health insurance to a specific job prevents people from starting their own businesses. More than 20% of people who used to have insurance through ACA programs can no longer afford their health insurance, and many of these are entrepreneurs and small-business owners.
I want you to stand up for families, children, small-business owners, and entrepreneurs and support the MediKids program so kids can have health insurance regardless of what job or health insurance their parents hold. #Resist #ResistOfTheDay #healthcare

Dear Senator / Representative -
Please stop this war. Congress voted to end the war. There is no "reset" of the time limit because of a ceasefire.
This war of choice started by Republicans remains illegal. It violates the UN Charter which prohibits the threat or use of force except in self-defense against an armed attack and it violates the 1973 War Powers Act.
The US military is bombing desalination plants, which is a war crime.
Article 54 of Additional Protocol I of the Geneva Conventions explicitly prohibits attacking, destroying, removing, or rendering useless objects indispensable to the survival of the civilian population. It specifically lists “drinking water installations and supplies” among such protected objects.
The provision exists because such infrastructure cannot be separated from civilian life: when it collapses, people die from thirst, disease, and the cascading failure of hospitals, agriculture, and sanitation systems.International humanitarian law is binding on all parties to armed conflict and not subject to presidential override.
This Republican Administration has no plan to end this war. You must.

Dear Sen / Rep --I want you to work with Rep Raskin on a Constitutional Amendment that protects an affirmative right to vote for every U.S. citizen. Globally, there are 11 democracies that do not guarantee the right to vote in their constitutions. The US is one of them.
Rep Raskin's original proposal is below, and should serve as a starting point for discussions.
--
All citizens for the United States, who are eighteen years of age or older, shall have the right to vote in any public election held in the jurisdiction in which the citizen resides. The right to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States, any State, or any other public or private person or entity, except that the United States or any State may establish regulations narrowly tailored to produce efficient and honest elections. Each State shall administer public elections in the State in accordance with election performance standards established by Congress. Congress shall reconsider such election performance standards at least once every four years to determine if higher standards should be established to reflect improvement in methods and practices regarding the administration of elections.
Each State shall provide any eligible voter the opportunity to register and vote on the day of any public election.

Today's message is about insulin. Please copy and paste into the forms on the websites of your members of Congress. Please share with friends and start your own Resist list to spread the word. https://www.congress.gov/contact-us
Dear Senator / Representative --Insulin is not optional for more than 8 million Americans living with diabetes — it is a daily need. It is not a luxury or something they can delay and go without until their next paycheck. It is the medication that keeps them alive.
That is why the INSULIN Act matters. It is bipartisan legislation that would help make the lifesaving medication more accessible and affordable for more Americans by limiting the out-of-pocket cost at $35 a month for people with private insurance. The bill would ensure people are not forced to ration their medication because they cannot afford it.
No one should ever have to ration insulin to stretch a paycheck. No parent should have to worry whether they can afford the medication their child needs to survive. No American should be forced to choose between life and debt.
You have an opportunity to do the right thing. Raise your voice. Support the INSULIN Act.

Dear Senator / Representative:
I oppose undoing the 2001 Roadless Rule, which prohibits road construction, logging, and mining on roughly 60 million acres of public land. This rule must stay in place to protect the homes and businesses adjacent to national forests, to protect the water those communities depend on that flows through the National Forests, and to protect the human-centered logging jobs that have grown since the rule was imposed.
I want you to make a strong stand against this rule change with us.
A look at the past 20 years of wildfires shows that most wildfires start near roads. Roads let in people. People play with fire. The fires burn out of control. After more than 20 years of monitoring, the science is clear -- forest health is improved by fewer roads, not more, and water quality is improved by more forest, not more roads.
While the 2001 #RoadlessRule prohibits large-scale logging, it has an exception for smaller-diameter timber to be cut and sold in areas that are at risk of severe fires. The logging goals of this administration could be achieved by small-diameter timber logging, the kind that actually creates more jobs because it is a human-intensive operation, not mechanized.
Follow the science and retain the 2001 Roadless Rule to preserve our #NationalForests and clean water.

I am appalled that Congress is giving this Republican Administration yet another pass with their war of choice in Iran. Only Congress can declare war, and Congress rightly voted to end the war. There is no "reset" of the time limit because of a ceasefire. This war of choice started by Republicans remains illegal. It violates the UN Charter which prohibits the threat or use of force except in self-defense against an armed attack and now it violates the 1973 War Powers Act.
This war has cost untold billions of dollars and hundreds of lives. And for what?
I legitimately want an answer to that question.
In an email sent to Time magazine on Wednesday, July 15, White House spokesperson Anna Kelly said that the United States military achieved all of its objectives during Operation Epic Fury.
Why then are my tax dollars still being used to bomb Iran? I want you discussing this in every media outlet. I want you to hold Congress accountable. I want the money cut off to fund this war.

Dear Senator / Representative:
In a six-day period, ICE agents killed two men who were NOT the target of any federal investigation in two states, proving that the lethal problems in ICE and DHS are systemic and have not been fixed.
I want you to fix them.
ICE has been involved in 29 shootings and 11 killings.
Being undocumented is a civil offense, and DHS has consistently demonstrated its desire to treat lack of documentation as a capital offense worthy of killing.
In Maine, ICE's victim had a social security card and was authorized to work in the U.S. In Texas, ICE's victim was in the process of finalizing his documentation.
The ICE shooters in Texas and Maine were not wearing body cameras.
Force ICE to wear body cameras at all time. Force DHS to provide data on how many body cams they have already distributed. Require 100% compliance within 30 days.
Since the White House shows no interest in protecting the lives of immigrants, Congress needs to shut ICE down while these deaths are investigated by an independent entity, not someone at DHS.
Hold your own hearings as well. Speak out against these horrendous killings loudly in all media: traditional, digital, and social. Do your job of oversight.
Silence is a policy choice. We will remember silence when we vote.

Dear Senator / Representative:
Many Americans must provide a doctor's note if they are going to miss five days of work in a row and use any paid leave to cover this time. Because ordinary Americans must justify their medical absences to HR, I want you to draft and push forward legislation that requires the same of Congress, all federally-elected individuals, and all Cabinet appointments, be they confirmed or acting.
If any person in any of these roles is to miss five days of work for a medical reason, I want I doctor's note provided to Congressional Majority Leaders, Congressional Minority Leaders, and the head of OMB. These notes do not need to be made public, but they should be subject to Freedom of Information Acts.
Failure to provide a note that would meet normal HR standards would be a loss of pay, starting after day 5 of their absence.
I want all federal officials - elected, appointed, and acting - subjected to the same medical leave standards required of the rest of us.

Dear Senator / Representative:
I want you to vocally and vociferously oppose any legislation that undermines birthright citizenship. Not only is it immoral and unconstitutional, it would be costly to American taxpayers to be forced to defend the indefensible in court.
The Supreme Court ruled 6-3 last month that the President cannot overturn the 14th Amendment with an executive order. But Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh wrote that Congress could pass a law narrowing the scope of the 14th Amendment.
House Speaker Mike Johnson then said that he will look for a “legislative fix” for citizenship that he claimed is being “devalued.” He said that the House will move forward “immediately.”
I do not support creating a class of stateless children in America, which is what would happen if birthright citizenship were ended.
I want you to fight any law related to birthright citizenship.
We need a serious overhaul of our immigration system, but sadly, this cannot be done while unserious people are in charge of this country.

Dear Sen/Rep -
I want you to take a firm stand against the groundwork this Republican Administration is laying to return disability to a medical model of treatment in institutions.
I worry, that this Republican Administration wants to return to the days when government entities felt no obligation to support people with disabilities, and I want you standing proudly and frequently with disability advocates. I want to see you in the news and on social media taking a stand in support of funding for mainstream support structures for those who are differentially abled.
Our society should support those with disabilities with how we design our buildings, our transportation networks, our educational programs, and our workplace habits.I want you to be a public push-back on any efforts to make disabled Americans some sort of problem that needs to be hidden in an institution. I want you to stand firm in your support of the Olmstead ruling and in your support of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
The United States has more than enough wealth to make sure every American can thrive. I want my tax dollars supporting more social services, and I want you to lead on this effort.

The District of Columbia has a greater population (694,000) than either Vermont (645,000) or Wyoming (589,000) and yet has no voting representation in Congress.
This is an injustice that should be remedied.
What we are doing to the citizens of Washington, D.C. is no less unfair or egregious than what colonists cited to justify their own independence.
I want you to support DC statehood.
These citizens should have the opportunity to advocate for or against federal policies and laws that affect their lives, not merely be subject to them. They deserve a true voice in Congress.
These citizens should have full control over their local laws and government rather than be treated as a ward of Congress. As recently as 2025 and 2026, Congress has used its power to disapprove local DC laws.
These citizens should be treated as living in an autonomous state with carve-outs for federal buildings such as the Capitol and the White House. The fact that they do not is a civil rights and racial justice failure.
Senate Bill 51 has 43 co-sponsors; House Bill 51 has 207. It’s long past time to bring this to a vote, and I want to see you push for one.

Dear Senator/Representative -
I want you to support changes to the Family and Medical Leave Act to make sure that every American has the same ability that Rep. Tom Kean Jr had -- the ability to deal with an unexpected illness or emergency without going broke.
As written, the FMLA provides 12 weeks of unpaid leave in a medical emergency, but how is the family to survive when the sick person is responsible for supporting the family? The FMLA also does not provide any support to those who are self-employed or work for small companies.
The bipartisan bill introduced in June that would give 12 weeks of paid medical leave to all federal employees is a good start, and while I want you to support this, I also want you to work to expand paid long-term medical leave to everyone.
The Congressional staffers working in Rep Kean's office would not get four months of paid leave. And what about the new accountant starting her own firm with only two employees? What federal assistance helps to support this job creator and her employees if an emergency surfaces?
I want you to work tirelessly for a stronger healthcare safety net for all Americans. We all work hard, and we all deserve the same benefits in a time of crisis.

Dear Sen / Rep -
I want you to do the following three things:
1) Cosponsor and actively support the Living Wage for All Act, which would raise the minimum wage to $25 an hour.
2) Lift the Social Security Income Cap completely. Every cent that a person earns should be subjected to Social Security withholding. The 7% of Americans who make more than $176,100 a year can afford to pay their fair share to keep Social Security solvent for decades to come.
3) Sponsor and pass legislation to reverse Rule 10b-18 of the Security and Exchange Commission, which allows companies to buy their own stock, thus driving up the value for shareholders while leaving workers with nothing. Stock buybacks were illegal throughout most of the 20th century because they were considered stock market manipulation. But in 1982 under President Reagan, the Securities and Exchange Commission passed rule 10b-18, which created a legal process for buybacks and opened the floodgates for companies to start repurchasing their stock en masse. This money, which used to be passed on to the employees as higher salaries and investment in new products or research, now drives up stock value for CEOs and stockholders.
These three steps would help lessen income inequality, and I want you out front and active in support of all three.

Dear Senator / Representative -
Moms, parents, and caregivers in our district are deeply concerned about the Medicaid funding cuts this Republican Administration is inflicting on hospitals, maternity wards, and nursing homes.
I want you do use every procedure you have to reverse the coming $1 trillion in cuts to Medicaid included in the budget of these Ballroom Republicans to ensure our hospitals can remain open and our families can access the care they need.
Communities nationwide are already feeling the devastating impacts of these changes. Medicaid provides essential revenue that allows hospitals to keep their doors open. Currently, an estimated 330 rural hospitals, 100 urban hospitals, 570 nursing homes, and nearly 200 health centers face potential closure. When these facilities close, the consequences for our community are severe: patients will be forced to travel much farther to access care, families across the country are going to face longer wait times in overwhelmed emergency rooms, and entire communities left without access to care.
The health of our families depends on a strong, fully funded health care system. I stand with parents and caregivers in urging you to support the restoration of Medicaid funding and protect the essential services our hospitals provide.

Dear Sen / Rep -
Because Congress has fully funded the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the Ocean Observatories Initiative (OOI), I want you to fight every effort to end the OOI program.
Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-OR) told AP, “This program is authorized, it’s funded, and for the administration to shut it down without direction from Congress violates that vision in which the people’s representatives decide what’s done and funded, and the executive branch executes that vision.”
A bipartisan coalition of Democrats and Republicans, Senators and Representatives, has written the NSF protesting the action, which has not undergone scientific review.
Although NSF is supposed to brief the House of Representatives before a plan to decommission facilities or assets, no such advisory was made, according to House members in a letter of protest to NSF.
I urge you to join your colleagues in opposing the NSF action and supporting any legislation that would prohibit decommissioning without scientific review and Congressional notice. I also urge you to speak out, even if you’re not one of the directly affected states, because all of us suffer when weather data goes dark.

I want you to expand food aid for women, infants, and children, the program commonly known as WIC, because in a nation that can produce a trillionaire, no person should go to bed hungry.
I noticed that under the House appropriations bill, WIC would lose $141 million in funding for fruit and vegetable benefits for the nearly 5.4 million children and pregnant and postpartum women enrolled, according to an estimate from the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities.
My priority is food security for every person, a safe roof over everyone's heads, and education. My priority is NOT the war in Iran, NOT a ballroom, and NOT continued taxpayer welfare subsidies to oil companies, tech companies, and other already wealthy corporations.
I want you to use every tool at your disposal to scrape some of the billions we spend on war and corporate welfare and redirect it to helping Americans.
I want you to articulate a bold vision for how we can and should do better. This nation has the wealth to bring amazing benefits to all people, but the gilded age policies and absence of a realistic tax revenue base are preventing this nation from reaching its true potential. Go back to the tax policies of the 1950s and 1960s. That is part our history that we must revisit.

I need you to step forward and firmly assert that the federal government has no role in elections. The Constitution places the states, not the Executive Branch, in charge of elections. The attempt by this Republican Administration to insert a Homeland Security / US Postal Service vetting process into voting is unconstitutional and I need you to make a loud stand about this in every hearing. Hold press conferences, get on the talk shows, and make it clear that this Republican Administration is again violating the Constitution.
I have seen the recent reporting showing cases where USPS is demanding that states provide the postal service with information about absentee ballot voters and vote-by-mail state voters so that it can decide whether or not to deliver the ballots.
If your name is not on that list, USPS will not deliver your ballot.
There is nothing in the Constitution and nothing in Federal Law that inserts the postal service and Department of Homeland Security in any voting process.
The federal government’s attempt to insert itself in the process of validating voters is unconstitutional.
Get a resolution to this effect on the floor of Congress. Make it clear that these attempts to hijack the Constitution will not stand.
