  1. And now after I can read a #barcode or #qrcode with #django and I can write a pdf from #django (using #reportlab ) I coded in #django a #barcode label's pdf for storage.

In the near future I post some code about this stuff with #python #django and #reportlab

  6. @tribaal #reportlab is the giant venerable library that seems like it can do just about anything when it comes to making PDF.

If you just want a quick doc though, its APIs can be a learning curve (disclaimer: I maintain some code that uses it, but have not really dived into it in years.)

#weasyprint is fantastic if you're already used to HTML and CSS. It implements some CSS features before the browsers do!

If you need something not expressible as HTML/CSS, it might not work for you.

  16. @brianb #Quarto is a successor to #RMarkdown. Very cool publishing system that can output HTML, PDF, etc.

I've built most of it with #Python and #ReportLab, but ran into a few problems and wondered if Quarto would be an option.

  23. Is there something better than #ReportLab to make a PDF document in #Python?

I need to make a grid with photos and names below them. Ideally I'd want to be able to dynamically resize them depending on amount of photos, but with ReportLab it's kinda difficult to do it easily with its grid system.
