And here, in the heart of Europe, it is protected and remembered.
Today at @europarl_en, we honoured and remembered the more than 3 million people torn from their homelands by the Soviet regime, 85 years ago.
Though attempts were made to erase their entire way of life, we continue to bring their stories and memory into the light.

I really appreciate the work that the @auschwitzmuseum account does, even though I find their posts – and the shocking cruelty and waste of life they represent – hard to read. But that #genocide is in the past. There's nothing we can do to stop it, or to prevent a single one of those deaths.
Would it not be good to set up a #Gaza Memorial account, to record those being slaughtered now in the genocide that is ongoing, and to shame its perpetrators into desisting?
