I get why it’s hard for people to understand why I’m proud to be from #WestVirginia and equally proud to be from the general region of #Appalachia. Even I used to tell people I was from South Florida rather own up to being #Appalachian.

Are there any people here who consider themselves #Rednecks, who are also #liberal, or even #left of liberal (like me)? I'm not a redneck exactly, but those influences are in my blood and in my culture and it kind of puts me in a weird spot. Can anyone identify?
