  6. I saw this at an antique store the other day... a Radio Shack crystal radio kit, with what appears to be a drawing of The Jam on the box. (Definitely looks like Bruce Foxton on bass!) I think I might have had one of these sets, but I don't think mine came in this box!

  11. Working thru a backlog of projects. This old turntable needed a new belt which arrived and installed no issues. I’m getting no audio. The cartridge coils test open. Safe to assume the cartridge is toast? I think I paid $5 for this years ago at a garage sale and only because it’s Realistic gear which I am overly fond of. #realistic #vintageaudio #radioshack #ElectronicsRepair

  18. @spacebug

I USA slutade jag handla på #RadioShack ganska snart efter jag flyttade dit i slutet av 80-talet, för de frågade alltid om telefonnummer. Och det var innan vi hade SMS. "No, thank you."

Synd, för de hade bra grejer.

  23. PROTECTING THE RIGHT TO REPAIR

The first computer in my house was a Tandy 1000. It was made by RadioShack and it was the coolest thing I had ever seen. Sure, it was not much to look at with its light brown plastic case and monochrome screen. I am pretty sure my calculator from middle school has more processing power. The laptop I am typing on right now is basically a supercomputer when put up against that Tandy, but it […]

  28. @bkuhn

Heh, I remember Service Merchandise, although it wasn't my favorite.
I think my favorite was BEST, but earlier, Toys'R'Us, because they always had an epic computer section. ;)
Also, I seem to recall the Dillards in Austin had cool toys and robots and stuff.

Also, who could forget #RadioShack. 😥
