First one wanted to be a pillow. The rest wanted to fulfill their destinies to become little mats. It was a great chance to practice actual quilting. I experimented with stitch length and speed. I found the rhythm that others seem to naturally have of ‘needle down, presser up, turn, presser down, and resume’. So while still leagues away from perfect or quality, this was an immensely satisfying little project with a humble little charm pack. #quilting #sewing #homespun #quiltstodon

Hey #quilt makers of mastodon (#quiltstodon ?): 7 quilts in, I feel like I'm maybe outgrowing my machine (a brother xm2701) and would like something with droppable feed dogs and more throat space. Does anyone have suggestions of something that's affordable but would be "this will be everything I need for the next 5+ years" machine?
